TrackMe
What is TrackMe?
Assignment in participatory design working with a user group to integrate their ideas into a working prototype.
Following four methods, contextual exploration, future workshop, prototyping with participants and critique in the design studio, we created a prototype to help users follow their habits.
The prototype helps users reduce their environmental impact by suggesting climate-smart alternatives regarding daily consumption and habits.

The Idea
Deciding on a user group of smartphone users who are open to create better their habits we set out to create a prototype that focuses on two of the UN's Global Goals 12.8 PROMOTE UNIVERSAL UNDERSTANDING OF SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLES and 13.3 BUILD KNOWLEDGE AND CAPACITY TO MEET CLIMATE CHANGE.
We took notes of the groups ideas and thoughts and grouped them into clusters in an affinity diagram using the contextual exploration method.
Prototyping With the Participants
We then held a prototyping session with our user group and encouraged them to let their creativity flow. Using the ideas they created and we refined, they got to draw how they envisioned the prototype to look. They gave us insights on things like where to further develop the idea, how they would like the navigation of the prototype to work and what colors they would like in a finished soulution.

The two Prototype Choices
We later tested two alternative prototypes with our user group and let them provide feedback on each and every part of both prototypes. This gave us more insight in what to keep and what to change for our last and final prototype. At this state the prototypes were still pretty bland, to let the user group really give their thoughts on each aspect of the two prototypes.
We came to the conclusion that there were good parts of both designs and things that needed to change. This led us to complete the final prototype with good footing in what we needed to do.
The Final Prototype
The final prototype is completely based on the ideas of the user group and our design teams merits. This allows the user groups ideas and plans to be met using the knowledge and skill our design group has.
The prototype allows for tracking and creating environmentally conscious habits for the users, and helps keep users accountable for their actions as well as encourages users to change little parts of their everyday life to promote the climates well being. The prototype gives the users ideas on things they can do to promote a healthier, more environmentally considerate lifestyle. Further, the prototype sheds light on the fact that a conscious choice does not have to be a big sacrifice in your day-to-day life.
